Altair’s Single-Mode LTE Chipset Recognized at Leading Industry Event

HOD HASHARON, Israel and DALLAS, TX – November 22, 2013 – Altair Semiconductor, the world’s leading developer of high-performance, single-mode LTE chipsets, today announced it has won the “Best Chipset/Processor Product” award at the 2013  LTE North America conference.

“The judges on the panel are very impressed with the game-changing approach that Altair has been pursuing in the past few years, and the way they translated this strategy into actual products,” said Mike Roberts, Principal Analyst & Head of Americas at Informa Telecoms & Media. “The FourGee-3100/6202 single mode LTE chipset is clearly a leader in its category in terms of features, performance and cost.”

Altair’s award-winning product, the FourGee-3100/6202 single-mode LTE chipset, is the world’s first single-mode LTE chipset to be certified by Verizon Wireless’ 4G chipset certification program. It is also certified by many other leading LTE carriers around the world.

Altair announced earlier this week that this chip is also at the core of Verizon Wireless’ new, LTE-only tablet, Ellipsis 7.

“Altair is honored to have been selected as the winner of this award,” said Eran Eshed, Co-Founder and Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Altair. “This is further recognition of the highest degree of innovation and execution that Altair had to demonstrate in order to become a challenger in this competitive market.”

The theme of this year’s event (Nov. 21-22) is “Delivering Network and Service Excellence to Empower the Connected Generation.” During the event, Altair also participated in a panel discussion about VoLTE opportunities and the future of the technology.

Altair representatives are available in Meeting Room #42 through the two-day conference.
