“The excellent trial results not only prove that Altair`s chipset is suitable and ready for commercial deployment of FDD and TD-LTE systems in Russia, but also reassures telecom operators that their large investment in the spectrum can be monetized effectively,” said Igor Marchenko, vice president at InformInvestGroup.
Altair’s FourGee LTE chipset is one of the few commercially sold solutions supporting both FDD and TD-LTE. The chipset supports all 3GPP Release 9 bands, and is deployed for commercial use and in trials around the world, including the US, Brazil, Germany, Poland, China, India and Japan.
“We look forward to working together with InformInvestGroup and with Russian Mobile Network Operators towards rolling out the first commercial products later this year. We are rapidly expanding the global footprint of our solution and believe that Russia will be a significant market for Altair in the coming years,” said Eran Eshed, co-founder and vice president of marketing at Altair Semiconductor.
